2008 - 2009
 
Being raised on paper cut-out dolls while the women of the house immersed themselves in the creative escape and necessity of sewing, I became haunted by the ghostly presence of mannequins and dress silhouettes.
 
In these works I replace needle and thread with paint, pastels, crayons, rollers, potato prints and sponges to delineate seam lines and patchwork shapes, in my attempt to ‘sew’ in the non-conformative.
